(Jacquline Fuller M.Ed. helping students with a Surface Water Investigation activity).
Just now we learned about surface water and what we as humans do to cause pollution in our water. There are actually simple things we can do to decrease the pollution. Such as picking up the dogs poop, washing your car on your lawn instead of in the street, picking up your leaves & putting them In the brown bin. When these few things accumulate on the ground, it can be hazardous to the fish because it can make them be less efficient to fighting away disease causing bacteria, & then we eat the fish & can get really sick. We also learned how to track down pollution from a certain area. We followed the pipes filled with pollution until we found the area that all the hazardous material had came from.
